CONCENTRATION ALL ON PARS VISIT

4th May 2001

Boss Alex Smith has been working hard to ensure his players concentrate on victory against Dunfermline at Tannadice on Sunday and nothing else.

With fellow strugglers St Mirren playing at St Johnstone 24 hours before the Tangerines kick off, they could be facing the Pars looking to open a four point gap on the Buddies, or needing a win to get off the bottom. Alex, though, wants his men to forget all that and focus only on getting three vital points. "There are so many permutations we could be thinking about, but the one thing we know is that it will only be a good weekend if we win," said the gaffer.

He will finalise his team after training on Saturday, when he has to decide whether skipper Jason de Vos and in-form striker Steven Thompson should be recalled to the starting line-up.
