United were narrowly defeated in their final pre season game of 2015 despite an impressive second half performance.
By Joe James
It was a closely fought first half, United playing some decent stuff whilst in possession but had it not been for a trio of fine saves from Luis Zwick the visitors would have taken a half time lead.
Watford did however open the scoring on the 53rd minute when a Juraado cross was nodded into the back of the net by Troy Deeney. Following a handful of changes at around the 60 minute mark United burst into life, Charlie Telfer and Chris Erskine's efforts both coming close. In the final minute, United were inches away from a deserved equaliser, however the impressive substitute Blair Spittal's shot whizzed narrowly wide of the far post.
