2014-15: 2nd in Scottish Championship
League form: Current league position: 2nd in Scottish Championship (28 points)
Their season so far...
Other than a poor start to the season, a heavy defeat away to Rangers in the Petrofac Training Cup in July and an opening day loss at Dumbarton, it's been a pretty good start to the season for Wednesday night's opposition. As a whole, they've performed fairly consistently. Courtesy of their victory over Rangers on Sunday, Alan Stubbs's men now find themselves just five points adrift of top of the league leaders.
Who to watch out for...
Although he only made his breakthrough last season, with eleven goals in 16 matches this season it's fair to say that 20-year-old striker Jason Cummings is a threat United will need to be weary of. Last term the Scotland Under-21 international scored an impressive tally of 21 goals in all competitions and this season he looks a much more complete forward: given the opportunity Cummings is more than capable of finding the net.
Last meeting...
The sides last met in the exact same round of last season's League Cup Quarter-Final. It was a highly entertaining match, goals from Chris Erskine, Aidan Connolly and Ryan Dow seeing a 3-3 draw head to penalties when Rado Cierzniak proved to be the hero, saving two spot-kicks in quick succession.
The squad...
