After a disappointing League Cup Quarter Final exit midweek, Dundee United will be looking to bounce back with a win against an Aberdeen side also struggling with form.
By Kevin Taylor
Over the last five matches Aberdeen have accumulated less points, and conceded more goals, than Dundee United and find themselves rock bottom of the form table.
Aberdeen are without a win in their last six matches and haven’t gone 7+ matches without a win since 2010. But before you start thinking they must be due, Dundee United have gone six away matches (in all competitions) without a win and haven’t gone 7+ since 2000.
United can also take heart from a solid performance earlier in the season against a more confident Aberdeen team on a day when only an unorthodox header from Kenny McLean separated the sides.
Head Coach Mixu Paatelainen will have Aidan Connolly suspended following his late dismissal against Ross County and, whilst Paul Dixon is back in training, it is unlikely he will be ready for first time action. Michael Szromnik will be hoping to continue his form in goal after amassing an impressive number of saves and our website reporter’s Man of the Match award at Easter Road midweek.
With Partick Thistle playing along the road against Dundee, if all goes well, they can hopefully take the title of bottom spot home with them when they go!
Come On United!!!
