United have been drawn at home to Partick Thistle in the Fifth Round of the William Hill Scottish Cup.
The tie is scheduled to be played on the weekend of 6/7 February.
This will be tenth Scottish Cup meeting between the sides with United the victor on only two occasions compared to the Jags' six victories.
United are unbeaten in the last two Scottish Cup matches between the teams including a 2-0 victory at Firhill in 2009/10 - a victory which started the never to be forgotten run to that glorious afternoon in May when United lifted the Scottish Cup for the second time in our history.
The goal scorers that day at Firhill were Damian Casalinuovo and David Goodwillie with current players Paul Dixon and Sean Dillon involved, Dixon starting and Dillon on the bench.
The previous Scottish Cup meeting between the teams was in 1981 when a solitary Derek Addison goal secured a 1-0 victory for the Tangerines in front of 7,758 spectators at Tannadice.
In the previous seven meetings between the teams in the ‘Scottish’, United had only one draw to talk about with the aggregate scoring 28-7 in favour of the Glasgow team.
Arabs will be hoping that the tie between the teams on the weekend of 6/7 February will be the start of another glorious cup run for the Terrors.
