A goal by Celtic after seven minutes was all that separated the sides in a game of few chances at United’s St Andrews Training Head Quarters this afternoon.

Backed by the strong wind and playing down the slope, the visitors went ahead after seven minutes when Paul McMullen scored from close range following a corner.
On 14 minutes, but for a fine save by keeper Joe McGovern as he deflected a Calvin Miler shot past, United would have fallen further behind.
For all Celtic’s dominance of the first 30 minutes, they rarely tested McGovern with their final ball into the box letting them down.
Indeed, the Tangerines got a foothold in the game with Justin Johnson firing in a shot after a good run brought out a good save by visiting keeper Doohan Ross.
Just before the interval, Ross was in action again, this time keeping out an Aaron Murrell effort.
There were few chances either way after the interval with Celtic always posing the greater threat.
They went close just after the hour mark when McGovern atoned for an error in losing possession when the ball was at his feet by closing down the lively Miller to block his shot.
Finally, in the last minute the United keeper saved well from Regan Hendry.
