United venture up the A9 again
on Saturday for the second time
in seven days to take on Ross County in the William Hill Scottish Cup quarter final.
By Graeme Webster
United won 3-0 at the Global Energy Stadium just a week ago and Head Coach Mixu Paatelainen will be looking for a repeat performance and a similar score line with a view to progressing in the cup. Opponents Ross County did United a favour in midweek with a victory over fellow relegation challengers Kilmarnock. However, their form since reaching the League Cup final has been inconsistent which, in addition to last week's game, should have United arriving in confident mood.
Despite losing to Aberdeen
on Wednesday, United are in good form having picked up a number of wins over the last month or so. With the defence looking a more solid unit in recent times, the decisions required for the Manager are more likely to be in the forward areas with Ofere, Dow and Erskine all pushing to claim for a starting slot following a midweek on the bench.
Despite the fact we have only played Ross County twenty-one times during our history, the two sides have a rich cup history. Who could forget our meeting in 2010, when we overcame the Staggies to claim the Scottish Cup at Hampden Park? A victory
on Saturday would put us just two games away from repeating that memorable feat...
Come on United!
