Despite taking a first-half lead, United were this evening defeated 2-1 by Motherwell at Fir Park.

United made only two changes to the side that last weekend defeated Ross County in the Scottish Cup Quarter Final, Michal Szromnik entering the starting eleven for Luis Zwick, whilst Callum Morris returned to the heart of defence replacing Mark Durnan.
It was United who opened the scoring, the in-form Henri Anier receiving the ball outside the box before lashing an unstoppable strike into the top corner.
Just when it looked as though United would be heading into the break in the lead, the home side equalised, Marvin Johnson looping home a header from Josh Law's free-kick.
Shortly after the hour mark the home side took the lead when Dom Thomas on the left flank squared to Louis Laing who converted from close range.
Despite throwing everything at it in the five additional minutes, it was Motherwell who held on for the three points.
