United will be looking to close the gap on Kilmarnock to just two points when Inverness Caledonian Thistle come calling to Tannadice on Saturday afternoon in the last fixture before the SPFL Premiership split.
By Tommy McKay
We go into the game on the back of a 1-0 defeat to Partick Thistle in midweek. Despite coming away without points, Mixu Paatelainen's men will be buoyed by the numerous chances they created during their outstanding first half performance.
United dominated both their previous games against ICT this season but could only take two points from these fixtures. Mixu will be hoping for a similar performance this time around, however with a more positive result.
Since our last game against Inverness, the squad has been significantly strengthened with the addition of Eiji Kawashima, Edward Ofere and Kyle Knoyle as well as the return of Paul Paton and Ryan Dow from injury plus Henri Anier from loan, whilst, on the other hand, both John Souttar and Ryan McGowan have moved on.
Tomorrow's opponents are likely to be in the bottom six barring a lot of things going their way, however all thoughts of post split fixtures and the upcoming Scottish Cup Semi Final against Hibs will be forgotten about as the management, the players and the fans, united together as one at Tannadice, are hoping to climb another step on the ladder to premiership survival.
C'mon United!
