The Dundee United first team squad and management today visited the Tayside Children’s Hospital, bringing gifts and Christmas cheer to the patients.
The squad arrived with gifts for kids of all ages. They spent time posing for photos and signing autographs for the youngsters in the outpatient and inpatient ward areas. Almost £1000-worth of gifts were donated after the players collected funds themselves to pool together with the Club's donation.
Club captain Willo Flood said, “We always look forward to visiting Ninewells at this time of year to spread a little festive cheer and meet some of the patients.
“It’s a small act for us to spend some time to bring some joy, especially to children who cannot be home for Christmas.
“It’s also fantastic to meet some of the staff who do an amazing job all year round.”
NHS Tayside Chairman Professor John Connell said, “We are always delighted to welcome the players and officials from Dundee United to Ninewells at Christmas.
“Having to be in the hospital at Christmas time is never pleasant, but visits like this make the time more bearable, especially for children.
“We are very grateful to Dundee United for their generosity and for taking the time out of their busy training schedule.”
