Dundee United are delighted to announce that Utilita - one of Britain's fastest growing independent energy suppliers - will be the Club’s main partner from the start of the 2018/19 season. The company will be front of shirt sponsor and will once again be the Official Energy Partner of Dundee United Football Club.
After a successful 2017/18 partnership, United is delighted to be working with Utilita again next season as they continue their positive presence in the city. Not only will they be powering Tannadice but as the main partner, but Utilita will play a huge role in supporting the Terrors’ push as they strive to re-establish themselves in the higher echelons of the Scottish game.
Utilita have doubled their customer base from 300,000 in January 2016 to 620,000 at the end of February this year. Over 90% of their customers already have a smart meter installed and staff numbers are now well in excess of 1,800 across 11 different locations in the UK.
Paul Reid, Head of Commercial Sales at Dundee United said: “As a Club we have been delighted with the impact, effort and commitment that Utilita have shown Dundee United. When it became clear that they were interested in becoming our main partner, I was excited that a national company held the same vision as ourselves of how the partnership would evolve.
“Both our fans and ourselves have enjoyed an excellent relationship with McEwan Fraser Legal in recent seasons and we want to take that progress and continue beyond with greater fan interaction and I believe Utilita will provide exactly that.”
Jem Maidment, Director of Marketing & Communications at Utilita, said: “This is a club steeped in history and one that has a proud reputation in Scottish football – to be able to support the club as the main partner is something that we hold with enormous pride. We’re delighted to be working with Dundee United for a third season and, as the front of shirt sponsor, we are looking forward to seeing the Utilita logo featuring on the iconic tangerine strip.
“As part of the partnership, Utilita Energy will continue to direct additional funding into the club’s Youth Academy programme to help find and coach the club’s future stars.”
Dundee United fans who switch to Utilita will receive an exclusive, limited edition Dundee United in-home display cover; plus £25 for each fan who signs up will go straight into the club’s player development fund. New sign-ups will also receive smart meters at no extra cost, excellent customer service and all the other benefits including exclusive access to festival and music tickets through its partnership with the world’s leading entertainment promoter, Live Nation.
