Community Trust Promotes Children's Mental Health Book

8th February 2019

Marking Children's Mental Health Week, the Community Trust were delighted to launch today Lucy’s Blue Day, an innovative book by Chris Duke aimed at helping primary aged children cope with feelings of anxiety and unhappiness.  Around 150 children from Our Lady’s, Rosebank, St Peter and Paul's, Dens Road and Claypotts Castle Primary Schools packed into the West End Suite for the official launch of the book.  The event kicked off with a warm welcome from Linzi McLelland (Miss Scotland) followed by terrific entertainment from Leigh Milne (Scotland's Magic Sensation). The event culminated in a fantastic and emotive first reading of the book, delivered by the Trust's Honorary Patron, Lorraine Kelly.

Jamie Kirk, Head of Operations at the Community Trust said: "I’m really proud that the Club and Trust have been able to support this unique project.  Improving mental health is a massive part of our work and it's an area where children are often overlooked.  Chris has done a terrific job with the book and I’m sure this will become invaluable to children, parents and guardians across the world as a way of coping with life when things are tough.”

Following the launch, the book is officially on sale and more information can be found at www.lucysblueday.com.
