There wasn’t as much action this weekend for our Young Terrors out on loan, mainly due to the weather, but there was some game time for four of our young players.
Young Ross Graham at Cove Rangers managed to close the gap on League Leaders Falkirk with a 1-0 win at home to Peterhead. Ross played the full 90 minutes in an eventful game as Peterhead had two men sent off which meant a very hard afternoon for another loanee Keiran Freeman. Young defender Keiran had a busy time dealing with Coves waves of attack but managed to keep the score at 1-0.
The Angus derby between Forfar and Montrose saw another two United youngsters facing off. Flo Hoti had an excellent 90 minutes in the midfield for Forfar and 17-year-old Chris Mochrie secured more valuable minutes for Montrose in their quest to stay in touch with the top four in League One as the game finished in 0-0 draw.
Cammy Smith was also in action in the Championship as Ayr United travelled to Palmerston to take on a jubilant Queen of the South after they ended a run of four straight defeats in their final match of 2020. It was an entertaining clash which ended with a grandstand finish as Ayr thought they'd snatched a point in the dying minutes, only for the Doonhamers to notch the winner 60 seconds later.
