Dundee United will join a UK-wide campaign and cease social media activity from 3pm on Friday 30 April until 23:59 on Monday 3 May as #FootballUnites against discrimination and online abuse.
The Club’s website will remain in action and supporters may still receive digital communications from our eNews system.
By taking part in this united campaign we hope to raise awareness that discriminatory abuse of any kind is not welcomed but also ask the wider footballing community to call out unacceptable conduct and make a stand against this negative, damaging behaviour.
Social media is an important, powerful medium but it must not be allowed to be utilised for the wrong purposes by cowards behind anonymous accounts. Improved regulation by social media platforms is needed.
By going silent for this period, we hope to send out a loud and clear message that enough is enough.
