Sunday could arguably be the biggest game of the season for Dundee United in the SBSSWPL2 as they look to earn promotion to the top flight.
Gavin Beith’s side remain two points behind second place Hamilton Academical and a point behind Sunday’s opponents Partick Thistle in third.
The promotion race is out of their own hands as they must hope that Hamilton drop points at home to Kilmarnock while defeating Thistle at the Regional Performance Centre (4pm KO).
Last Sunday saw the side lose at home for the first time since 2019 as Aberdeen sealed the championship with a 5-2 win.
While we would love to have a strong support for this game, we must reiterate that NO supporters are allowed due to restrictions at the venue.
The following must happen for any of the three sides to be promoted:
Hamilton Academical (vs Kilmarnock): A win will render any other result irrelevant. A draw will also be enough unless Thistle win or United win by fifteen goals!
Partick Thistle (vs Dundee United): A win coupled with any form of dropped points by Hamilton will mean Thistle are promoted. A draw will only be good enough if Hamilton lose by at least five goals.
Dundee United (vs Partick Thistle): United can seal promotion if they win and Hamilton lose. If Hamilton draw, United must win by at least fifteen goals.
