CELTIC
DUNDEE UNITED
CINCH PREMIERSHIP MATCHDAY 14
15:00 SATURDAY 5TH NOVEMBER
CELTIC PARK

Dundee United travel down the M8 this Saturday as we pitch up at Parkhead for the first time this season.

Opponent Lowdown

Celtic sit four points clear at the top of the cinch Premiership, with just one defeat in their opening twelve matches.

The Hoops' foray into European competition hasn't been as successful though, suffering convincing losses at the hands of Real Madrid and RB Leipzig in the UEFA Champions League.

Talisman Kyogo Furuhashi has continued his red-hot form into the 2022/23 campaign despite missing out on a place in Japan's World Cup squad, with three of his eight league goals so far coming at Tannadice in August.

Celtic Park Successes

Our last victory over the Parkhead outfit came during the festive period in 2014 - Nadir Ciftci the hero as he opened the scoring after a mistake from Efe Ambrose before teeing-up Stuart Armstrong at the back post for the winner at Tannadice.

That victory closed the gap between the sides to four points heading into the New Year.

Duncan Ferguson was on the scoresheet last time the Terrors left Glasgow with maximum points - Boxing Day 1992.

United stood firm on both occasions at Celtic Park last season, the first encounter ending with honours even thanks to a bullet header from Ian Harkes to restore parity just 60 seconds after Liel Abada gave his side the lead.

However, Abada's strike at the death in January saw a point slip agonisingly from our grasp as Ange Postecoglou's side claimed a 1-0 victory.
