On the 14th of May 1983, hoisted on his team’s shoulders, Jim McLean finally gave off a smile, as United sealed a historic Scottish First Division title win at Dens Park.
To celebrate our most iconic achievement, the club are proudly producing an official Champions ’83 commemorative book.
The book has been commissioned to Steve Finan, renowned for his ‘Jim McLean Dundee United Legend’ and ‘Lifted Over the Turnstiles’ publications.
In a run which will see 1,983 limited edition copies produced, Arabs can have their say on that momentous season.
Steve will dedicate the book to United fans – both those still with us and those who have passed away – with a list of names proudly displayed on the opening pages.
Steve said, “We’d like to think of grandchildren and great-grandchildren opening the book in years to come, seeing their forebears’ names scribed into United history.
“We’re looking to get as many names as possible – your name, your friends’ and families’ names, anyone you know or have known with a connection to Dundee United”.
