Dundee United Women are delighted to announce Emma McMurdo as their first signing of the close season!
Hailing from Australia with Scottish roots, McMurdo is a creative midfielder that looks to dictate play and can sit anywhere across the middle of the park. The 20-year-old spent nine years down under at the National Training Centre before cutting her competitive teeth with two years in the National Premier League One, the second tier of Australian women’s football.
McMurdo will face her toughest test yet with an exciting Scottish Power Women’s Premier League season ahead. DUFCW's opening league match is at Gussie Park on Sunday 13th August, with Graeme Hart's side taking on Partick Thistle.
Upon signing, Emma spoke of her delight at linking up with Graeme Hart and his squad. “It’s quite a nice feeling to sign because I feel like I’ve joined a club that appreciates me and is looking to push me further as a player and as a person.”
“I’m looking forward to testing myself in a league that’s full of very experienced players that I can learn from.”
Head Coach Graeme Hart was eager to snap McMurdo up when she became available, “Emma is a player we've chased for a while and we are delighted to get her in the door. She is a creative midfield player who can also chip in with goals.”
