JIM GOODWIN NAMED GLEN'S VODKA CHAMPIONSHIP MANAGER OF THE MONTH FOR SEPTEMBER

Dundee United are thrilled to welcome the news that Jim Goodwin has received the Glen’s Vodka Championship Manager of the Month Award for September.

Assisted by Lee Sharp, Dave Bowman and the rest of his backroom staff, Goodwin has steered the Terrors through September undefeated.

United began the month by dispatching Airdrieonians at Tannadice, and subsequent victories over Inverness CT and Queen’s Park secured our place at the top of the cinch Championship.

The Irishman’s side also recorded a 1-1 draw with Greenock Morton despite being down to ten men for a significant portion of the game.

In the entirety of British professional football, only one other club been able to match our defensive record - with United conceding just three goals so far this term.

A TEAM EFFORT

Upon accepting the trophy from the SPFL, Goodwin said: “I’m very grateful to those who voted for me as Glen’s Vodka Manager of the Month.

"I’m not a huge fan of individual awards in team sports but the biggest thing for me is that it’s recognition for the hard work that’s been done behind the scenes collectively.
 
“I’ve got a great backroom team who work tirelessly during the week to make sure we put the right game plan together for the weekend, and then you rely on those players to get the job done."

He concluded: "So as much as I’m appreciative of the award, I would accept it on behalf of the group because it very much is a team effort."
