Throughout October, seven Tannadice prospects have garnered over 1,500 minutes of senior experience across the UK whilst representing their respective loan clubs.
SAMUEL CLEALL-HARDING
Samuel Cleall-Harding continues to be an integral part of Kelty Hearts’ defence having started every League One match since his arrival at New Central Park.
He boasts an impressive passing accuracy percentage of 84%, and has made 35 interceptions in seven appearances.
At the other end, the 18-year-old opened his senior account with a close-range header at Palmerston in the Maroon Machine’s thumping 5-1 victory over high-flying Queen of the South. In doing so, he is currently the youngest player to score a goal in the third tier this term.
Despite the two consecutive defeats that followed, at the hands of Montrose and Stenhousemuir respectively, Kelty currently sit one point off the promotion play-offs, eyeing a place in the Championship for the first time in their history - perhaps a fitting way to mark the 50th anniversary of the club’s inception.
RUAIRIDH ADAMS
Fellow Kelty Hearts star Ruairidh Adams is also an ever-present for Michael Tidser’s men - yet to miss a moment of league action. The budding shot-stopper has now played over 1,000 competitive minutes at the age of just 20.
His only absence from the starting line-up came as the Fife outfit exited the SPFL Trust Trophy, with Adams cup-tied for the Fourth Round clash with Dunfermline Athletic due to his involvement with United’s B team earlier in the competition.
Holding the fort for an expansive outfit, it’s unsurprising that the Edinburgh native currently sits joint-second in the League One charts for saves made, tied with Stenhousemuir’s Darren Jamieson on 39.
Kelty continue their quest for promotion with the visit of Dumbarton this weekend, before hitting the road for battles with Annan Athletic and Arbroath. A Scottish Cup Third Round trip to Borough Briggs concludes their busy November schedule.
LEWIS O’DONNELL
Queen of the South’s scintillating start to the season has faltered of late, with Peter Murphy’s men suffering three successive defeats throughout October.
The aforementioned Kelty Hearts duo of Cleall-Harding and Adams went head-to-head with their Tannadice colleague in a resounding victory for the visitors, then table-topping Cove Rangers sent Queens back to the borders empty-handed thanks to goals from former United midfielder Fraser Five and lower-league stalwart Mitch Megginson, who already has five strikes to his name this year.
Finally, a televised derby against Annan Athletic culminated in the Galabankies claiming just their third-ever triumph over their local rivals.
However, O’Donnell and his teammates still currently sit just three points off the top of the table, and the talented midfielder ranks second in the division for passing accuracy, with an outstanding 91%.
The visit of Alloa Athletic on Matchday 13 presents the Doonhamers with the opportunity to draw level on points with their opponents, who currently occupy second spot in the table. Tussles with the bottom two, Dumbarton and Inverness Caledonian Thistle, follow.
RORY MACLEOD
Rory MacLeod has enjoyed a goal-laden month for club and country, finding the back of the net on three occasions.
He featured in both of Scotland’s friendlies with Hungary in Debrecen, scoring in the second after leading the line for 76 minutes - his first at U19 level.
Returning to domestic duty, MacLeod made his full competitive debut for Southampton U21s in their 4-1 Premier League Cup rout of Fleetwood Town.

And in his final outing of October, the 18-year-old would steal the show when German giants RB Leipzig pitched up on the south coast, tucking two identical finishes into the bottom corner to ensure the Saints began their Premier League International Cup campaign on the front foot.
BRYAN MWANGI
Another Terrors prospect to get off the mark for his temporary employers, Bryan Mwangi broke his Broxburn Athletic duck against East Stirlingshire, with a five-goal haul for the hosts seeing them move back into fourth place in the Lowland League.
As a result of his goalscoring exploits, he returned to the starting XI for an all-West-Lothian battle with Bo’ness United, playing 68 minutes of the eventual stalemate. Latterly, Mwangi also made a fleeting cameo on Matchday 14 when Civil Service Strollers defeated Broxburn at Albyn Park.
After narrowly seeing off fellow fifth-tier outfit Auchinleck Talbot in the Third Round, the Badgers’ 2024/25 Scottish Cup adventure is set to continue later this month as an exciting matchup with Stranraer on the West Coast awaits Steve Pittmann’s side.
ADAM CARNWATH & SEAN BORLAND
Adam Carnwath played the entirety of a competitive match for the first time since suffering a long-term ankle injury in March, as Albion Rovers made the short journey to Broadwood for a Lowland League joust.
Furthermore, the United youngster won a first-half penalty which Callum Wilson converted to ensure a share of the spoils.
Sean Borland is also enjoying regular action with Cumbernauld Colts, with eight starts to his name in all competitions.
A run of successive defeats following the draw with Albion Rovers brought an end to David Proctor’s reign in North Lanarkshire, and left Colts sitting second bottom of the table.
